# Privacy Policy — BT AutoPlay **Effective Date:** June 2026 ### 1. Introduction Welcome to BT AutoPlay ("the App", "we", "our"). This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and what choices you have when you use our application. By installing or using the App, you agree to the practices described in this policy. ### 2. Information We Collect #### 2.1 Information You Provide The App does not require you to create an account or provide personal information such as your name, email address, or payment details directly to us. Any in-app purchase or subscription is processed entirely through Google Play, and we do not receive or store your payment card data. #### 2.2 Information Collected Automatically To deliver its core functionality, the App may access the following data on your device: - Bluetooth device names and MAC addresses — to identify which paired device, from the list you configure in the App, triggered playback. - Media session state (playing / paused / stopped) — via the Android MediaSession API, to resume playback correctly in YouTube Music, Spotify, or Poweramp. - Notification access — required by Android to read active media sessions; the App does not read the content of your personal notifications. - Playlist or video URL you enter — if you provide a YouTube or YouTube Music playlist/video link in the App's settings, that URL is sent to YouTube's servers solely to look up its title for display in the App (see Section 4). #### 2.3 Log Data The App maintains a local diagnostic log of operational events (e.g., Bluetooth connection events, playback actions, errors). The log is stored only on your device, inside the App's private storage, and is never transmitted to any server. Entries older than 7 days are discarded automatically; within that window, the log persists across app restarts and updates so recent activity remains available for troubleshooting. You can erase it at any time using the "Clear" button on the Logs screen, or by clearing the App's data in Android Settings. ### 3. How We Use the Information All data accessed by the App is used solely to provide and improve the App's functionality: - Detecting Bluetooth device connections and disconnections to trigger automatic music playback. - Resuming or starting the correct streaming service (YouTube Music, Spotify, or Poweramp) based on your settings. - Looking up the title of a playlist or video you've linked, so it can be shown in the App. - Displaying status notifications about the current Bluetooth device and playback state. - Diagnosing errors through the in-app log viewer. We do not use any collected information for advertising, analytics platforms, or any purpose beyond the App's stated features. ### 4. Data Sharing and Third Parties We do not sell, rent, or share your data with third parties, and we do not operate any servers of our own that receive data from the App. The App communicates with the streaming applications installed on your device (YouTube Music, Spotify, Poweramp) via standard Android APIs. The App also contacts an external server directly in one specific case: if you enter a YouTube or YouTube Music playlist or video URL, the App queries YouTube's public oEmbed service (or, as a fallback, the public YouTube web page) to retrieve that item's title. Only the URL you entered is sent — no Bluetooth, device, or other personal data is included. This request goes to YouTube/Google's own servers, not to any server owned or operated by us. #### 4.1 Google Play Billing Purchases are handled by Google Play. When you complete a purchase, Google Play processes your payment and the App confirms it through the Google Play Billing Library. We receive only a purchase confirmation — no payment card details, billing address, or personally identifiable information is shared with us by Google. Google Play's privacy practices are governed by Google's Privacy Policy, available at https://policies.google.com/privacy. ### 5. Trial Period and Paid Access #### 5.1 Free Trial The App offers a 7-day free trial period. During the trial, all features of the App are fully available without charge. No payment information is required to start the trial. The trial begins on the date of first installation and expires automatically after 7 calendar days. #### 5.2 Full Access After Purchase After the trial period expires, continued use of the App requires a one-time purchase through Google Play. Upon successful payment, the App is permanently and fully unlocked for the Google account that completed the purchase. No recurring subscription or additional fees apply unless explicitly stated in the Google Play Store listing. #### 5.3 Purchase Verification To verify whether you've already purchased full access, the App uses the Google Play Billing Library to check your purchase history for this App directly with Google Play. This check happens locally between your device and Google's servers and does not involve any server operated by us. The result is cached in the App's local settings on your device, so your purchase is recognized even when offline. ### 6. Permissions Explained The App requests the following Android permissions and uses them only as described: - BLUETOOTH / BLUETOOTH_CONNECT / BLUETOOTH_SCAN — to detect paired Bluetooth devices and monitor connection events. BLUETOOTH_SCAN is requested with the "neverForLocation" flag, meaning it is not used to determine your physical location. - FOREGROUND_SERVICE / FOREGROUND_SERVICE_CONNECTED_DEVICE — to keep the monitoring service running reliably in the background while a Bluetooth device is connected. - BIND_NOTIFICATION_LISTENER_SERVICE — required by Android to access active MediaSession data. Personal notification content is not read. - RECEIVE_BOOT_COMPLETED — to restart the background service automatically after device reboot, if you've enabled this option. - SYSTEM_ALERT_WINDOW — to launch streaming apps from the background on Android versions where background activity launch restrictions apply. - POST_NOTIFICATIONS — to show the status notifications described in Section 3. - INTERNET — to communicate with Google Play for purchases (Section 5) and to look up playlist/video titles from YouTube (Section 4). - com.android.vending.BILLING — required by Google Play to process in-app purchases. ### 7. Data Retention and Deletion The App stores your preferences (selected Bluetooth devices, chosen streaming service, playlist URLs, feature switches) in Android SharedPreferences on your device. This data is never uploaded to any server. To delete all App data, you can use the standard Android option: Settings → Apps → BT AutoPlay → Storage → Clear Data. Uninstalling the App also removes all locally stored preferences and logs. ### 8. Children's Privacy The App is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided personal information through the App, please contact us and we will take appropriate steps to remove such information. ### 9. Security Because the App does not transmit your data to any server operated by us, the primary security boundary is your device itself. We recommend keeping your device and Android OS up to date and protecting your device with a screen lock. As described in Section 2.3, the diagnostic log is stored locally in a file within the App's private storage and is limited to the last 7 days of activity. ### 10. Changes to This Privacy Policy We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the Effective Date at the top of this document and, where required by applicable law, notify you through the App or the Google Play Store listing. Continued use of the App after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy. ### 11.
